The digital album entitled “Aromorphosi” released by “Melodiya” Record Company is the Russian premiere of the pianist Vladimir Ivanov-Rakievsky program.
Musician and educator Vladimir Ivanov-Rakievsky chose for his album the title associated with the theory of evolution. Aromorphosis in biology contributes to the development of new territories and ecological niches, the emergence of new animals and plants that are more adapted to new environment. Aromorphosi in music, according to the performer, is the release of “secondary” works that are little known to the general public.
There are only two recognizable names among the authors of the piano pieces of the new album: George Gershwin and Jules Massenet. The works of other composers follow the style of the great Chopin and Liszt, Ravel and Prokofiev, and have been included in this collection to create a special acoustic atmosphere.
Moscow pianist, composer and arranger Vladimir Ivanov-Rakievsky is a graduate of the Moscow and Zürich Conservatories, as well as the Hannover High School of Music, was the creator and leader of several international music projects and a participant in many contemporary music festivals. His concerts are well known to music lovers of Russian, German and Swiss radio. Aromorphosi was recorded at Syrland Studios in Reykjavik, Iceland, in 2020. The digital version of the album will be available on Apple Music, Yandex.Music, YouTube and Spotify platforms.
