VOIS announced its participation in the meeting of the Senior Dept. of Internal Affairs (GUVD) over St Petersburg and Leningrad region

Head of CSOSCM & EAL of the Senior Dept. of Internal Affairs (GUVD) of St Petersburg and Leningrad region Mr. S. Doroshenko has held a debate about
‘Report on the work done regarding suppression of breach in the sphere of the intellectual property for 8 months of 2009, operation ‘Counterfeit’.
Main participant of the meeting was DSOSCM & EAL.
Reports on the done work of heads of regional DSOSCM & EAL and also the report of VOIS’s representative Mr. T. Bichev regarding interaction between
VOIS and DSOSCM & EAL have been heard. Mr. Bichev has informed on receipt by VOIS of the state accreditation on realization of the rights of performers and producers to receive royalty for the public use, broadcast and cable transmission of sound recordings published for commercial purposes (Article 1326 of the Civil code of the Russian Federation).
According to the results of stated reports Head of CSOSCM & EAL of GUVD of St-P and LR Mr. S. Doroshenko has specified the necessity of strengthening
of work on suppression of breach in the field of the author’s and related rights. Also it has been declared, that a priority direction for DSOSCM & EAL
is struggle against breach of the author’s and related rights.
