VOIS and LaIPA (Latvia) signed a bilateral agreement concerning the rights of phonogram producers

VOIS concluded a bilateral agreement concerning the rights of phonogram producers with the Latvian collecting society on neighboring rights – Latvian Performers’ and Producers’ Association (LaIPA). According to the agreement the producers of phonograms of both countries will be protected equally within the contracting territories.

Cooperation of VOIS and the Latvian colleagues will allow Russian record companies get remuneration for the use of music phonograms in the territory of Latvia, and Latvian neighboring right owners – in the territory of Russia.

LaIPA unites Latvian performers and phonogram producers. The society collects, distributes and pays remuneration for the public performance, broadcasting and cable transmission of phonograms published for commercial purposes.
