RCU and RAO have organized and have lead Day of the Actor and the Author within the limits of Days of intellectual property in the Russian Federation.

From April, 20 till April, 26th, 2009 Days of intellectual property in the Russian Federation are passed.
Choice of these dates is not accidental: on April, 23rd under the decision of UNESCO the International day of the book and the copyright is marked, and on April, 26th under the decision of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) the International day of intellectual property is marked.
Active participation in preparation and carrying out of Days of intellectual property in the Russian Federation accept the Commercial and industrial chamber of Russia, the Ministry of culture of Russia, Committee on culture of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, Rospatent, the Government of Moscow, other federal authorities, Faculty of UNESCO under the copyright, the Russian Author’s Society, the Russian Copyright owners’ Union, the Russian state institute of intellectual property, authorities of subjects of the Russian Federation and other organizations.
The main aim of this large-scale action is to draw attention of the public and authorities to essential problems of augmentation, protection and rational use of intellectual property.
Within the limits of these Days the Russian Author’s Society and the Russian Copyright owners’ Union will traditionally organize and spend Day of the Actor and the Author (on April, 24th) with participation of many outstanding figures of the Russian culture and art, scientists and experts in the field of author’s and related rights, representatives of the state and the public organization sengaged in this sphere of activity.
For the first time Days of intellectual property in the Russian Federation celebrated in 2003 under the initiative of Faculty of UNESCO under the copyright.
Then Commercial and industrial chamber of Russia, Ministry of culture of Russia, Rospatent, the Government of Moscow and the Russian Author’s Society have decided to celebrate these Days annually by way of forming of a special Coordination council and Organizing committee consists of representatives of many interested organizations.
In the evening on April, 24th, 2009 in the Hall of church cathedrals of the Cathedral of the Redeemer the Russian Author’s Society and the Russian Copyright owners’ Union have organized and have lead solemn ceremony and a concert, devoted to Day of the Actor and the Author.
In the above mentioned action participated the Rector of the Russian State Institute of Intellectual property (RSIIP) Ivan Bliznets, deputy head of faculty of UNESCO under copyright Astamur Tedeev, director of Department under the legislation of Commercial and industrial Chamber of the Russian Federation Sergey Vasilev, the General director of the Russian Author’s Society – a member of the Board of RCU Sergey Fedotov, Joseph Kobzon, Vladimir Presnyakov Senior, groups “Fabrica” and “Ivanushki International”.
