On May, 17-19, 2011 the 36-th annual General Assembly of SCAPR was held in Washington (USA).
The Societies’ Council for the Collective Management of Performers’ Rights (SCAPR) unites performers’ rights organizations. Today 41 society from more than 30 countries from all over the world jointed SCAPR.
This year the participants of General Assembly discussed a range of questions, concerning unification of bilateral agreements between collecting societies on neighboring rights and developing a common database. The participants presented their annual reports and reported about the difficulties they face.
VOIS took part in the General Assembly as an observer. The Deputy Directors Victor Osipov and Erik Valdes-Martines presented the results of work in 2010 year and told about neighboring rights in Russia and about VOIS as the sole state accredited society that carries out collecting, distributing and paying out the remuneration on behalf of all performers within the Russian Federation.
