Press conference of VOIS and public authority concerning struggle against offences in the sphere of intellectual property

The joint press conference devoted to work of Alliance Company, work of law machinery, public prosecutor’s office of Stavropol Territory, authority of
Stavropol Territory and Stavropol, courts of the general and special jurisdiction regarding conformation to the current legislation of activity of
persons/organizations using sound recordings publicly and distribution both audio and video products in Stavropol Territory and Stavropol, also use of
Olympic symbolism during preparation for forthcoming winter Olympic Games – Sochi – 2014 has been completed on 09/03/2009 in Stavropol.

The participants of stated press conference are representatives of Authority of Stavropol, press-service of court of the general jurisdiction of Stavropol
Territory, judges of regional court of Stavropol Territory, employees of DSOSCM & EAL  of regional ОVD of Stavropol, representatives of Public prosecutor’s
office, and journalists of various mass media.

Preamble has been granted the Head of the press-service of the Municipal Department of Internal Affairs of Stavropol Territory Mr. Vladimir V. Akinin.
During the press conference representative of VOIS (deputy director of Alliance Company) Mr. Ivan A. Drepa has declared questions on good practice of
cooperation with law machinery, public prosecutor’s office of Stavropol Territory, authority of Stavropol Territory and Stavropol, courts of the general
and special jurisdiction, also has concentrated the attention on imaginary legal nihilism of a part of the population in the issue of the author’s and related
rights, and unwillingness of the persons using sound recordings publicly to exercise its activity according to the acting legislation.

Also representative of VOIS (deputy director on protection of exclusive rights of right holders at Alliance Company) Mrs. Albina H. Ibragimova has declared
with regards to distribution of counterfeit audio and video products in the territory of Stavropol Territory and Stavropol, and damages to economy of
the Territory as a result of persons activity on distribution of this type of products.

The senior expert of Alliance Company Mr. Vladimir J. Balabin had lifted a following question: ‘Olympic symbolism as object of intellectual property.
Communication between organizing committee Sochi-2014’ and the Federal Customs Service of Russia, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Rospotrebnadzor,
directed for revealing and suppression of illegal use of the specified symbolism.

Final speech to the conference has been declared by the Head of press-service of the Municipal Department of Internal Affairs of Stavropol Territory
Mr. Vladimir V. Anikin who has noted growth of quantity of the revealed offences regarding clause 7.12 CoAV for 2008-2009 years and has emphasized
essential merit of representatives of VOIS in Stavropol Territory.
